Fastest printing on rolls: EFI Matan 3 and 5

The EFI Matan 3 and 5 are high-productivity inkjet presses that comply with the highest standards of print quality, productivity and usability. These printers are incredibly fast and offer the best cost of ownership in their class.

The printers come with advanced multi-roll capabilities, versatile media handling capabilities to support a variety of flexible and rigid media and a motorised carriage height adjustment for maximum ease of use. In contrast with the EFI Matan Quantum range, the EFI Matan presses only support true 600dpi resolution. On the other hand, the Matan 3 and 5 support the full range of Matan options that further improve production efficiency and speed.

The EFI Matan 3

Matan Core technology

The 5-point Matan Core is not really a technology. It’s more like a mission statement or a philosophy that lives behind each and every EFI Matan press. According to the five points of this philosophy, every printer has to offer:

  • best performance
  • best versatility
  • best cost of ownership
  • best usability
  • best environmentally-friendly solution.
The EFI Matan 5

Printing technology

The EFI Matan range of printing presses support four colours with patented Parallel Drop Size (PDS) technology with 20 and 40pL drops.

The EFI Matan range handles a wide variety of flexible and rigid substrates: up to 350cm max printing width, roll-to-roll, free-fall, and multi-roll (2 rolls of 1.6m), with optional Vacuum Plate for thin sheets and rigid media up to 11mm thick. There’s also an optional Jumbo-roll handling system enables working with large media rolls up to 750kg for continuous, unattended work.

With an EFI Matan 3 you can print 297m2 per hour. The 520cm media width supporting EFI Matan 5 does even better at 353m2 per hour. The RIP for these printers can be the Fiery XF, but also Caldera, or any other compatible system available in the market.
